Having a Well-being solution available for employees to access to manage good mental health also supports their physical health. I run Corporate Wellbeing group hypnotherapy sessions tailored to corporations and their employees.
I have worked in corporations since 1998 and in Financial Services since 2006 in Marketing, Propositions, Projects, and Communications. I’m familiar with the challenges that employees face in modern offices, diversity, equity and inclusion, role changes, fears of redundancy, changes in the environment, desk and office moves, returning to the office, presenteeism, project deadlines stress, migration delivery timescales, and the ever-changing landscape that employees, employers, corporations and companies face.
I’m passionate about helping people make a change in their life, to empower them to achieve their goals. Q. What is hypnosis?
A. Hypnosis/hypnotherapy is a changed state of awareness and increased relaxation that allows for improved focus and concentration. Hypnosis is like when you daydream but with verbal suggestions, visualisation, and mental pictures to help make the change you want. Most people feel calm and relaxed during hypnosis. You may have seen hypnotherapists in a film or at a live show or on the TV where members of the audience are used to perform daft impressions of animals or told to behave in a certain way to act a fool. This gives a misconception of what hypnotherapy really is about.
Q. Can someone control my mind?
A. No-one can control your mind or make you do anything against your will. When you are in hypnosis you always remain in complete control. It is you ‘doing’ the hypnosis, the hypnotherapist is helping you to relax into the hypnosis. While hypnotised, you may reject any suggestions given if they conflict with your values or beliefs. Similarly, you will not say anything in hypnosis that you would not normally want to reveal.
Q. How does What Is Your Story Hypnotherapy work?
A. There is a free 20 minute consultation to check if we can help you. We ask you to complete an online questionnaire and send it through our terms and conditions. While we need to have some history of what you want to change and work on, we do not need to go deep into issues. We focus on what is happening, how we can help you deal with that, and get you to where you want to be. We plan your treatment plan for 4 sessions and adapt these as needed. Each session will be between 1hr to 1hr 30 minutes.
It is important for you to know that we – the client and hypnotherapist – will work collaboratively as a team. There will be some homework to do to complement the work we do together to achieve the change you want, such as practice self-hypnosis by listening to audio recordings, completing a diary, or writing a list, etc.
